About
A modern library for a timeless practice.
OhMantra exists to make the sacred sounds of the world's great contemplative traditions accessible, understandable, and beautiful — without ever losing their reverence.
Mantras are among the oldest continuously chanted spiritual practices on earth. Yet finding a mantra's meaning, its context, and a good recording — all in one place, treated with care — is surprisingly hard. We built OhMantra to close that gap.
Every mantra page carries the original text, a careful transliteration, a translation, a spiritual interpretation, guidance on when and how to chant, and curated links to the best recordings we can find. We start with the Hindu / Vedic and Buddhist traditions — the two lineages that shaped so much of what mantra practice looks like today — with room to grow.
This is a beginner-friendly resource, but not a shallow one. We write for people just starting to explore, and for lifelong practitioners returning to the sources.
Chant with reverence. Practice with care. Return often.
